want to install kill switch in mu

Postby stardog » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:31 am

Hi guys just wondering how to install a kill switch and how to wire one up in my 94 mu.
And where to run the wires from to a hidden switch some where inside the cabin so no one can start it and steal it.

just tap into your fuel shut off solinoid with a simple on off switch and mount it under your dash, some where that you can reach it but no one else can see it or do like I did and mount the switch on the dash in plain sight and mark it fog lights, simple. when your so called " fog light switch" is off the motor will turn over with the key ok but won't start.

I want to do similar but further up the system so that the engine doesn't even turn over, maybe a switch in the starter send from the ignition?

get fancy and fit a timer. This way the engine starts They get to drive out of the nice secluded park where they could of taken the time to find and defeat the kill switch without getting caught into the nice busy traffic Then the motor stalls and starts making a very loud noise. They will run every time.

You could do it with the starter also captcol, instead of taping into the fuel solenoid go to the 1 small wire on the starter solenoid with the on off switch and you can turn the key but it won't crank over, only thing wrong with this is if they are really smart and its a stick they could push it to get it going but I really doubt they would go thu all that trouble.

Yup yup that would work, mine is auto so nothing, I guess the other option would be a battery kill or power to the ignition as that would stop anything from working ... I shall ponder this

You could also put a little C4 under the drivers seat and have a switch the sends the juice to the C4 instead of the starter, that stop um every time, fur good.

Satelite recovery, or gearbox lock. Expensive put they usually bring it back. Insurance also offer a rebate. Now that's in Africa.....

a kill switch on the fuel solenoid or a fuel valve... block the fuel line with a solenoid valve or a manual ball valve.. it will keep them busy.
Where are we hunting?
