4JH!-TC Rodeo vs NKR77 VP44 Injection Pump

Postby wattle » Thu Dec 07, 2023 7:11 pm

Does anyone know the difference between an NKR and Rodeo VP44 injection pump?

I presume they are the same but mapped differently. is it possible to put an NKR77 pump into a rodeo 4jH1? Would the NKR be mapped to deliver more fuel? Would the ECM reject it?

I would assume the pump would be the same on both but the ecu would have a different tune

Would they even have a different tune? The nkr might be heavier but lower geared

I’ll ask my injection pump workshop about compatibility, I know on some other vehicles there are compatibility issues between different VP44s
Another option is a mechanical pump conversion and eliminate the VP44 and sensor requirements all together.
