I have a small water line coming off the motor that is blocked off with a short piece of hose and a plug, any ideas on what it was orginally used for??

1949 Dodge 2 1/2 ton pumper fire truck, 15,000 original miles, with a 1991 Cummins 5.9 diesel, turned up fuel, 5 speed trans, two speed rear, also added P/S, P/B.

Water cooled turbo. I would say your turbo is not water cooled

WOW is that what its for, didn't know they had um, guess it wouldn't work with a water cooled intercooler, waters too hot already, anyone know what's the ideal temp a water cooled intercooler runs at?

I couldn't get the petrol tach to work with the diesel motor, so I bought a after market tach and that's the pickup, it attaches to the alternator and will work with any size motor, petrol or diesel, pretty cool, HUH
