i found this place in NZ which have the VRS and head gasket at a good price, just not sure about this reply..

"Just on a side note all the MU’s I have seen have a 4JX1-T 3.0L. But if it is a 4JG2-T the this set will fit. From our experience we know there is a difference in a 4JG2 fitted to a Holden and a 4JG2 fitted to an Isuzu, this set we carry is Listed for a Trooper and Bighorn"

I think they are confusing the 4jb1t in the holden and the 4jb1t in the isuzu. Holden is gear drive Isuzu is belt drive

They must have only worked on late model Mus'.
Most in New Zealand would be 4jb1t or 4jg2t.

The 4jx1 is in some Mus over here but not many. Soon after they became available in Japan the import rules on diesels changed so they did not comply any more so most gen3 mus are v6 petrol.
If it is listed for trooper it is ok. The only difference in the holden set is an extra gasket for the timing gear

What was the original gasket thickness you should get the same size.
