Fuel pump leak

Fuel pump leak from back or inside of injector pump. Quoted $1500 to recondition and refit. Is this about the right price? Cheers Peter

Common due to old seals and low sulphur diesel. That price sounds a little high but it could be a worst case quote so might be less. That is the best way to do things but you might get away with just replacing the top seal and accelerator seal They can be done in place but its a pig of a job and noone will give a guarantee with it. Mine was done this way for 300 4 years ago and has been fine since. Unless you are very good with diesel engines dont try yourself
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
