Isuzu wizard 3.0 (2000)

Postby law350 » Wed Dec 01, 2010 5:53 am

HI everyone,

just bought a wizard 2000 on a w reg. UK

Went to take it for its first drive after driving it home form the dealer and it wont start. It turns over, sounds ok whilst turning over but will not fire up.
I can also hear a clicking from the centre console whilst i am turning it over.

It has only done 38k as its a jap import, so low mileage still.

any ideas on this as only had it two days and already getting frustrated with it as i dont really know what to do.

please help.

thanks

If only owned a couple of days I would be going back to the dealer and expecting them to fix it or was it a special?
Cold weather can play havoc with those engines if you have the wrong oil. Change it to 0w40 and good oil like mobil 1 or similar. Also change the fuel air and both oil filters. Otherwise there is little you can do without diagnostic gear.

i have not done anythign so far, i was going to book it in for a service this week as i always do that on a new car regardless of what the dealer says he has done.
I'll give him a call, but being 90 mins away just have this feeling he'll tell me to bring it to him, but not ideal when it wont start.

thanks for the ideas, i'll try and grab some service bits and change them when this snow stops.(grrrrr).

thanks

managed to jump start it today, and took it to my local garage who tested the batter with two testers and both said 'replace battery'. so hopefully this is the problem.
I bought a new one today and will fit tomorrow.
does anyone know if the radios are coded and will i lose my code by changing the radio???

thanks

Dont know but if the voltage on the batery dropped low enough to drop the fuel solinoid the radio would of lost its code as well. Just to be on the safe side though try and keep one battery attached at all times
