2001 4jx1 3.0 litre td Jackaroo ENGINE SWAP HELP!

Postby naxtra77 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 4:21 pm

Hi,

I currently have a 2001 4jx1 3.0 litre td Jackaroo, the engines buggered, anyone know any cheap swaps available in Australia? What im looking for is any advice on what engines are compatable, and which one is the best option.

Help would be much appreciated,

Cheers Nathan

There is a thread elsewhere about swapping those engines out. At least I think its those ones.
If I find it I will post a link for ya.

Thnk you for the reply, but that post lead nowhere, a member asked for a detailed guide to swap the engine but bazza didnt reply. :( does anyone no of any engine that will fit into a 2001 jackaroo? and where to get it from and if possible tell me if it will fit on the trans work around the wiring and ecu ect.

4jx1 shares the same ecu as the trans, Dont know if you can fit an earlier trans only ecu but its the same box so might work.
I would go for a 4jg2 and matched auto and get the wireing loom at the same time and things should work but still a lot of work.
otherwise there is always the comadoor v6 and auto followed by the hilux transfer case
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
