Timing Belt Change Interval?

Postby Aufgeblassen » Mon Aug 31, 2009 11:59 pm

Just bought a '97 Rodeo w/ 3.2 engine, but it came with no Manual. It has 105,000 miles on it. What is the timing belt change interval? Thanks!!!

I would say every 100,000kms, Check with the previous owner as to when it was last done (if at all).
Cheers,
Andrew

THe correct interval is 100000km which is 60000 miles or 6 years

According to this list:

http://www.lambsauto.com/belts.htm

The 2.6-4 engine IS an interference engine, while the 3.2-6 is NOT. Nevertheless, I'm having belt(s) changed at 105,000 miles, since it has never been done!

When you have the belt off you could turn the crank over by hand to find out if you really want to but I would take the cautious specification and assume it is. The motor comes in several forms for several markets and uses so some might be interference and some not
