oil filters

Postby wbski007 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 12:11 am

can any of you tell me if the oil filter on my 2001 2.5 is the same as earlier 2.8's and if not what other year vechicls uses the same oil filter as mine :?: no one here in the states can look it up for me :( I can't beleive Isuzu used so many different oil filters on its diesel motors, seems to me it would have been more cost affective to use just one filter on everything , but I guess they know alot more than we do

Thanks, Wayne

Give us some filter numbers so we can cross-reference.
I did try and cross-reference that last number you gave us but came up blank or if you have a old one give us the seal size and thread size we can match it

the only numbers I have are A/C Delco PF1298 or GM part# 89002952, can't come up with any diameters, they don't list them, they told me that these are the only two american made filters that will fit a 2.5, they have no way to cross referance them to foreign filters. Its hard to believe that Isuzu made a special filter just for the 2.5, when the 2.8 is basicly the same motor,I'm going to see if I can measurements, thanks for your help on this, pig75

found this # on the web, oil filter for 2001 2.5 TDI, Isuzu pick-up, part# CNS-11294, only problem they won't ship to US, does this # ring any bells as fitting 2.8??

good going Alan, thanks for the info, does look like its the same as the 223, same # VO35, we have that model here in the states, will go to the auto parts tomorrow and give it a try, mine is a newer motor than any on the list you sent me, but maybe I'll luck out and they didn't change the filters.
Cheers wayne

Thanks pig75, I copied what you and Alan posted, I'm going to the auto parts today, with all the ammo you guys have given me and see what they can come up with? Mainly I want to see if they can come up with a thread size on the AC-PF1298 that I got from them and used the last oil change, wish I had saved the old one so I could have done some measureing, Thanks for looking this up for me,
Cheers,Wayne

Does this mean the z402 have a larger thread?? cause i just tried fitting the ryco z178a to my 2.8td and the centre hole where it screws on is too small!! is the z402 ryco also??
