4JB1 thermostat housing plug

Postby magicdeo » Sat May 21, 2016 9:45 pm

Looking at fitting a coolant temp gauge to my 97 rodeo 2.8. I am going to fit the sender to the plugged hole in the top of the thermostat housing. The problem is i need to order an adaptor and need to know the thread size of the plug but I am unable to get mine out atm. Does anyone know what size thread the plug is? Cheers

the sensor needs to be under the thermostat, putting it in the top wont give you an accurate reading

looking at the engine from the front, on the left hand side of the housing where the original one is, there is room to drill a hole and fit another sensor, as long as its below the thermostat, otherwise the gauge will go up and down as the thermostat opens and closes
