Hi all,
this is my first post. I have 1998 Isuzu Bighorn Troper Plaisir 3.1 auto lwb vehicle.
I bought it several months ago for my father and repaired its minor problems till last Friday which it blow coolant hose.
the last problem was engine coolant going into expansion tank and go out of it. Because of that every 2-3 days I should check and fill the radiator. I suspected rad cap fault when I checkedit was 0.9 bar and at internet correct rad cap for my vehicle 1.1bar
I replaced the radiator cap with 1.1 bar. I drove it for 3days with extreme care about engine coolant temp gauge, everyday checked coolant level which was ok not filled the expansion tank.
the only thing that I noticed was pressure at radiator top hose it wasnt too much and I could press it with my fingers by applying reasonable pressure. This pressure was gone I was thinking new rad cap open and released pressure.
Anyway there is no water in oil. Engine still in working condition apart from blown hose. There is no strange noise etc. Engine temp gauge never goes up to center before.
Can this be fault of old worn rubber hose? stuck closed thermostat ? innefficient water pump? Clogged radiator? Blown head gasget? Cracked head?
thanksin advance for your replies.
Ali
Temp gauge needle was going up to left (cool) side if center.
I thought that everything fine but 3rd day it blown one of the hose which connect to the thermosrat housing, it happened within 3 minutes uphill which temp gauge went 3/4. I noticed and stop engine let it cool for 10 minutes and went back to home it was downhill and temp was about center.
