96 4jg2 wizard brakes don't work well after new alternator

Postby Scott7771 » Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:59 pm

Hi everyone I replaced my alternator with a new one because of no charging and after install the brakes are no longer working to their fullest and I was wondering if the curved vacuum line on the top of the pump can interfere with the brakes. any vacuum pump knowledge would be help full .... I have trouble making out the FAQ's. And need specific on the brake and vacuum pump relation. Add note when I slam on the brakes it's not a lock up or very heavy braking reaction. Thanks for the help.

You will have a vacum leak most likely the hose behind the air con. 2 hoses on alternator. large goes to brake small goes to everything else. Easy to dislodge
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Buy 4 of 5 meters and look at as many hoses as you can. Many hoses will be starting to split at the ends and if one has come loose its worth checking the rest. Coloured silicon looks nice
