4jb1t gasket set Who is wrong me or the seller?

Postby mikeman101 » Thu Jun 08, 2017 6:09 pm

Hi fellow Isuzu enthusiasts

I bought what i thought was a gasket set for my 4jb1t but it arrived saying on the packaging that it was for a 2.2 vauxhall ...however i found on the listing that it sneakily says bore diameter is 88mm when the 4jb1t is 93?mm however the listing says 4jb1t . your probably confused to shit right now ,im wondering if you guys could check the listing out and see who is at fault here.

many thanks

Thats not the only ebay seller with that gasket set either. My best guess is that it is for the C223 engine which was in earlier troopers and is 2.2 litre and 88mm bore. It might be for the Opell 2.2 engine in some Vauxhall Fronteras but I dont think so. The manifold gasket matches the c223.
Certainly not a 4jb1
You want this set

However this might be for a gear driven engine not belt so you might still have to buy a couple of seals or buy your gasket set locally

yes you are right about c223, Seems odd how they are selling them as 4jb1t when it should be the c223 trying to offload an old product? Do the gear driven and belt driven versions have a different head gasket?

Only difference is in the timing cover and oil filter. If your only after a head gasket no issue except there are meant to be 3 different thicknesses marked by a notch in the gasket. Dont know how important this is or if aftermarket bother.
