Leak in Fuel Filter?

Postby BlackieNZ » Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:25 pm

Today I changed out the fuel filter, once it was all back together I loosened off the bleed screw and started priming the pump.

I reckon I pumped for around 20mins and no sign of fuel. I then pulled off the filter and checked all the o rings and seals and they seemed good. (Small dent on the filter from when I dropped it but is no around the seal.

Started pumping again, still no sign of fuel. Any help would be appreciated

Did you tighten the water bleed at the bottom of the filter.
The priming pumps can fail due to tiny bits of dirt getting in the valve. A good clean should fix. To test the pump get a length of hose and a litre of diesel in a clean container Put the hos in the container and pump to see if it picks it up ok

Thanks, will try this tomorrow. Where can I get a hose that would fit on the pump?

because its only a temporary hose it doesnt have to be fuel safe. Any auto parts shop or even hardware store will have something. I like to use clear hose as you can see what is happening.
