Short outter belts a/c bypass

Postby tonkamu » Tue Aug 22, 2017 2:55 pm

Is it possible to run short belts crank to idle pulley and by pass a/c or does the fan get in the way?

Would there be a gain in HP if its possible?

Cheers

It has been done to overcome a bad air con that wasnt worth fixing but with air con switched off there would be very little to gain

Do you know what size short belts were used in the end?

Ive seen it done a number of different ways with different size belts. Simplest way would be to copy a early 90s rodeo with same engine but without air con option

Rodeo with no a/c option still has a idler pulley where the a/c normally is so the belt will be way to long
