My Mrs forgot to turn off my truck

Postby nzscott » Wed Sep 20, 2017 2:49 pm

Hi there.... I have a 1992 bighorn , this morning I awoke to find that my lovely Mrs had returned from volunteer fire fighting training the previous evening and forgot to turn my truck off , it was a total mistake and she feels real bad about and I cant really say anything as I have done the same thing before (bloody turbo timers) but not for the same amount of time that she did 10 hours .

when I discovered the truck still running I took it for a run down the highway to give it a blowout , then I gave it an oil change before going to work . can anyone tell me if this prolonged idling will have damaged the engine in anyway ? cheers Scotty

You will need to top up the fuel tank. If it was in a garage attached to a house a big warning about carbon monoxide poisoning which kills people. Otherwise no drama
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
