injector pump leak

Postby andy120 » Mon Oct 23, 2017 8:22 am

It looks like my 4jg2 is leaking out the front injector pump seal. I see front an old post it may be possible to do it in place. Is that correct or is it easier to leave in pulley in place and remove the pump? Where do I get a new seal from?

Can do in place if it is leaking from there, pulley has to come off to do seal and to get the injector pump off, there was part numbers on site somewhere or any seal or diesel shop will have 1

If its leaking out the front shaft seal the timing pulley has to come off to get at it. Ive been told its easy but dont know anyone who has done it. Might as well do a timing belt while your in there
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
