Water in spark plug covers

Postby cheffyboy1 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 5:37 pm

Strange I know, it has me and several mechanics stumped. I have never washed the engine (petrol, 3.2) or seen water under the hood, but after seeing the mechanic, for sluggish running, he pulled one of the plug rods out and water "ran out" of the plug stems. After drying the plug and bay out, it ran fine for a day, then same again. Only way I can get the engine to stop shuddering is to remove the plug, shake the water out and replace. Day in and day out!!!!
Rocker cover has been resealed. Plugs replaced, Transmission rebuilt, HT leads, and still a problem. The engine bay is bone dry and no moisture coming from under.
1995, Irmscher, Lotus running gear. 203,000km

Any thoughts please?

Is it using cooling water?
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
