differences between 4JB1 and 4JB1-T

Postby gtyler » Sat Dec 16, 2017 8:48 am

Hi All,
I have a motorhome with a 4JB1 engine, would like to not hold the traffic up on hills.... So thinking I could add the turbo, pump, manifolds etc. are there any other differences? i.e. pistons, con rods, head bolts, oil jets under pistons, etc?

The 4jb1 was industrial only and 54kw. In a motor home freedom camping rules would by applied while driving. Are you sure its not a 4b series engine?

yes, https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=sd8483 . also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Isuzu_engines says it was used in Isuzu trucks. It is the non-turbo version, very similar to the 2.5 4JA1 used in the Isuzu ute, I had one, and did the engine up. great engines, built like a tank.
