Water pump lifespan

Postby magicdeo » Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:19 am

Gday, how often should a water pump be changed and/or how do i check if its working efficiently? 2.8 diesel rodeo. Can push hard on a hot day of about 40 degrees and get the water temp to 98 degrees up hills. Radiator and thermotat new and system has had a few good flushes over the last 2 years
Cheers

that would be my first check. It should be firm when cold and firmer when hot. If you can spin the blades then it is bad. In saying that though above 50kph the natural airflow should be sufficient
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
