4jb1t 2.8 Frontera A “ CLUTCH “

Postby cinesecj7 » Mon Aug 27, 2018 3:29 am

hello everyone, do you know how many kilograms of pressure must have the clutch pressure plate of 2.8 to work well? it seems that the new pusher does not have much force and the clutch slips

EDIT had my maths wrong: STD clutch is like 450kg clamp force somewhere around there, HD clutch is 750kg clamp force. Maybe it wasn't installed correctly? In what manner is it slipping?

the old clutch kit had problems because the diaphragm spring was cracked. I have mounted the new kit and continues to slide, when I insert the 4th gear at low revs, and push the accelerator the clutch slide.
Clutch disch it’s new, the flywheel has been corrected, pressurizzata plat new.

I think I push it is new but it is weak and faulty

Not to sure but I have the same problem, slipping in 4th and 5th upon reving and loading it will slip badly and make a burning smell. happened after engine mods. just bought heavy duty clutch to try fix this problem.

even I have done a little boosting maybe 10 more CVs. but it always went well. I'm having the power of the diaphragm spring checked, if the power is less than 220 kg I buy a Racing disc

hello, I just paid € 65 to do some technical checks on the clutch disc. I push it new brand EXEDY like the original one holds the clutch up to 23/24 kg which translated into Nm is 235 Nm.
we know that the Isuzu 4JB1T pair is 242 Nm / 2100giri.min.
so I found that if the turbine pressure or the injection pump pressure increases slightly, the engine torque increases and the original clutch skates. old or new

Did you have the flywheel machined or do you know if it’s been machined in the past? When it is done the raised section of the flywheel needs to be machined back the same amount as that is taken off the friction surface otherwise it drastically affects the clamping force. Had clutch slipping issues on the rodeo even though it had a HD exeedy clutch already in it. The previous owner had replace the clutch, and only machined the friction area.

hi Paul, the measurements are now perfect, an incompetent mechanic had hurt my job, now it's all in on the fly. the problem is too much power, and standard clutch. my question is if someone has assembled a reinforced clutch spring, what serial number is, and what brand is

What sort of power are you running? Some clutch places can upgrade clutch pressure plates by installing shims to increase clamping force. I upgraded to an NPC clutch which is an exceedy HD clutch upgraded in the manner mentioned. No longer have any slipping it is taking about 600nm and I’m drag racing with it.

Thank’s Paul 600nm, I think that is enough for my engine, I do not know how many nm I have earned with my modifications, I have mounted an intercooler, increased diesel , delayed wastgate, this is my video
