Gearbox noise

Postby rrangelmz » Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:15 pm

My gearbox sounds a strange sound when I brake the engine.
The noise seems like jumping reels inside the box.
I even thought that the 4x4 gear was engaged and the transmission light flashing
When this started the mechanic changed the solenoid but the problem was not resolved.
The gearbox only makes the exchanges above 2500rpm.
I'm thinking in change the gerbox filter and see if something will change
My car is the Japanese model Isuzu Mu / Wizard 3.1D 1992-1997

I had something similar except mine was when turning. It was caused by the front diff half engaged. Sellecting 4wd would stop the noise but not good for the trans. Ended up rehashing the front hub activation system as a test and it proved the problem plus allowed me 2wd low so I never looked further
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
