Intermittent Wipers

Postby sanramonrover » Thu May 20, 2010 10:39 am

My '91 KB came with wiper pushbuttons labelled HI, LO, MIST and OFF. HI and LO are self explanitory, but MIST makes the blades wipe only once.

Because the buttons were damaged I replaced the switch unit with one from a Canadian Trooper or Rodeo (I forget which). The buttons are labelled HI, LO, INT and OFF. Now the INT button does nothing. I assume I would need an intermittent relay in the relay box.

Any suggestions on which relay in the relay box, and what models have them?

You should be able to get a relay off a rodeo possibly a trooper. The relay is the one with the red around it

At a guess the mist also ran the washer There might be other wiring involved in this

Well, it appears no intermittent wipers for the KB :(

Although the relay box under the hood shows a wiper relay position, there are no socket pins in the base plate. So it appears the 1991 KB never had provision for intermittent wipers even if I did find the correct relay.

So I'll re install the original switches with MIST on the 3rd button. With that you just press the button for one intermittent wipe. Oh Well
