AC/Climate Control no go

Postby Slimie » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:34 pm

Hi all
Looking for some help to diagonose why the ac/climate control panel on my 93 Bighorn only goes for 5% of the time.
Most of the time it shows no signs of life. Pushing of buttons gets no result.
Then on the odd ocassion it all bursts back into life and works fine.
Have had the dash apart to check the connections and all look in good shape. All other functions of the dash still seem to be working.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Simon

The wire that goes to the A/C compressor to engage the truck could be damaged? Sometimes open circuiting?
Faulty relay?

if it has auto fan speed control the resister for the low speed fan might be burned out resulting in no low speed fan. I have this with my other car now
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Found it a dodgy AC relay. It would switch but wouldn't conduct any current :)
