brand of Glow Plug

Postby 98Rodeo » Thu Jul 22, 2010 11:43 pm

Hi everyone,

was just wondering if anyone is using HKT glow plugs? i went into the local last week to get some new ones but they only carry these and not ngk or anything.
can anyone offer any feedback on these? should i just change the one faulty plug(only faulty because i broke the top off it) and keep the rest there as they work well?

I personally would only change the faulty one, I don't think it hurts to mix brands when it comes to glow plugs
I live in my own little world, but its OK they know me here.

just changed the one plug, was hard enough to do! they were so much easier to get to with the rocker cover off... what a painful job!
upside is hardly any white smoke on startup now instead of a huge cloud :-)

I can't see how it'd be easier with the rocker cover off? (4JB1) looks easier if the intake manifold is off, however not impossible with everything in place.

yeah wasnt impossible with everything in place, i only replaced one so left it all together, jsut took the intake hoses and pipe off that goes over the top. I remembered when i did the tappets a while ago i took all 4 out to turn the engine over it was way easier to get at them without the rocker cover there, with it on you kinda have to stick ur fingers between gaps in the intake manifold
