Earth behind dash

Postby glennk » Tue Sep 07, 2010 11:03 am

Hey guy's,

Have a little earthing issue I think. When the vehicle is at a stop whilst running, tacho drops to the stop mark. When I have my indicators on, the Volt Meter, Temp Gauge and Oil Gauge jump around with the flashing of the indicators.

I have been told that this would be an earthing issue behind the dash....................but I am stumped as to where the earthing locations are for the dash so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Glenn

Look up under the dash with a good torch. There are several black wires screwed to the mounting frame for the dash. These are the earths. These are not likely to fail but a fault in the main earth wire to the engine could cause this as well
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
