Hi,
Did you fit a relay when you added the spot lights? On some headlight switches on other makes, there is a bi-metal strip overload built into the switch, where too much current will cause the lights to go off and come on after the strip
cools down.
Also check the light fuses, I have seen these melt at the base due to age or constant running at near max current.

I am new to MU's so this may not be the causes of you problems, but have been playing with cars for 30 yrs
and have seen these problems.
Cheers John

Check the combination plug halfway down the steering column for burnt pins

I would say you need to trace all the wires for the lights. Its the only way your going to find the fault. 5 bux says is one wire that has a break somewhere and looses contact at times.

Been there done that. one hell of a job really.

have you checked the wiring where your spotlights relay run from the high beam (if they do)?

check out the plug on the back of the headlamp, when i got mine the insulation on the wires coming out of the plug was gone/perished causing similar problems.

the relay for park lights is in the drivers side kick panel, you should feel the relay for the headlights click which is in the main fuse box area, I had my hand on the box with the other arm through the window turning the switch on and off to find which one it was, or that might have been high beam ... brb

Edit: so I just checked the relay for the lights is in the fuse box drivers side under the bonnet (or relay box i guess) near the battery, take the lid off, standing at the front of the truck looking back at the windscreen it is on the guard side (left) and closest to the windscreen almost under the side of the guard.

good to hear the lights were sorted.... what happened to your a/c? electric clutch burn out?? and oil from it??? doesn't sound good. sounds like new compressor and re-gas.
