extra single plug on mu alternator

does anyone know what the extra single plug on the mu alternator is for. i have the round plug hooked up but do not know what the single one is for, it is wired up to the cable that fits onto the bolt. any help? cheers

That is the wire that charges the battery

Yep, one of the wires that comes off the bolt goes to the battery for chargeing but there is another wire with a single plug that has no corresponding attachment. i thought it might be for a dual battery charging lead. Not sure. Will try to post a pic.

It's probably just a plug for a radio suppressor if it comes from the same post as the main battery wire like in the pic

yep, thanks pig75. that is what it must be because it is same as pic except it is on a diesel alternator with pump. Great i can just leave it be now.
