fitting keyless entry help please.......

Postby bozza72 » Sat Dec 04, 2010 10:50 am

HI all im trying to fit a fitting keyless entry system to my 95 bighorn, it already has central locking so i thought it should be easy ha....

i have 2 wires from the leyless entry white and white black and i get 12v from each to lock unlock, but when i try to tap into the wires that powers the push rod thingy they wont work. the push rod thingy has 3 wires green/red , blue/yellow and black.

any help would be great as ive now given up and come inside for a beer to cool/calm down
cheers.

When I did this to my nissan bluebird (for shame) I had to install a motor into the drivers door as there isn't one standard, this may be the same case here?

okay now I am guessing completely - a couple of options

black to ground and then try various combinations of the other two wires connected to get lock/unlock

balck to ground again, one wire is permanent power and the other wire is a signal wire similar to a car alarm siren wiring, unfortunately you would probably have to have the two wires exactly right to get this to work but there is only two combinations if you take the black wire out.

I would try those or alternately I would try direct wiring the motor to see what each wire does but this could potentially damage things.

good luck

I have not looked at the wiring diagram, but usually central locking servos are motors that run forward or reverse to lock or unlock. The 2 wires are 12V positive or negative, switching to lock or unlock. The 3rd wire is usually only on the front doors so if you use a key to unlock the front doors this wire activates the others. But I would suggest using a servo supplied with your kit and attaching it as well to the driver's door locking mechanism. It will lock + unlock the driver's door only then the original central locking unit will work the rest of the doors.
