97 mu wizard dash cluster back lighting out and park lights

Postby mrnutta » Sun Jan 23, 2011 4:07 am

Hi guys

My 1997 mu wizard 3.1 has lost all the back lighting to the dash cluster ie speedo and rev couter etc etc
also the lights on the transmission shifter on the floor have gone out but the ones on the dash work !

Put simple at night I can't see what speed i'm doing !.

Just checked and the park lights are out as well.

All the indicator lights ie park brake, power drive etc etc work fine.

I have checked all fuses none blown.

Can't find any type of brightness adjustment i'm told some of these mu's have this...

Where can I find a wiring diagram for my 1997 mu wizard ???.

Help :)

Regard
Ian

Had this on my 96 wizard, in the drivers kick panel there is a series of relays, my relay had failed, it is one of the middle ones and controls the circuit for park lights, tail lights and dash lights. Took me ages to find the damn thing tracing wires etc etc. Good luck

I found the answer last night !

Your right about the relays you can hair them click in when flicking the park lights then the main driving lights on
if there working fine.

In my case the one for the park lights didn't click in.

It turns out I had an intermittent connection on fuse CB5 second from the right top row it's a 15amp.

The odd thing is I had removed and re socketed all fuse's two times and the lights had not come back....

I worked this fuse in the socket 5 or 6 times in hope to get better contact...

Hey thanks for the reply !

I'm happy now !! :)

Hi,
can someone please tell me where is this reference to the fuse CB5? I have some manuals for my Isuzu MU but the drawings there dont match with what i see on my car for some reason.
I have the same problem as above, taillights and dashboard lights are not working. they came back on their own a few days ago only to stop working again recently...:(
I suspect a rusty connection as all the fuses seem alright to me. I'll give them a clean tomorrow but it would be nice to know which one is the taillights fuse. thanks!
