Postby 1996bighornlotus » Wed Feb 02, 2011 5:29 pm

hi all, just brought car and central locking doesnt work, (even tho it was advertised as working) cleaned and changed battery in the remote, seems fine. (any ways or tricks to test it?) still wont work, im after some trouble shooting ideas and locations of the central locking components in the vehicle so i can check them all out. any ones help is much appreciated!!

does it work from the key? The drivers button and both door locks should lock and unlock all doors. I dont think these had remote locking as standard so its after market and likely to be part of an alarm system.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Hide it in the glove box and forget it exists
There will be a solenoid and sensor somewhere but it will likely take an auto sparky and $$ to fix
