i didn't explain myself properly...

i ended up putting them into a set of spotlights which took a h3 bulb. now with some modification the h4 hid's are in there and removed the metal shield alltogether.

they're only 35w chinese garbage but man they light up!!!
i can see the light on the shed door during the day!!! can't wait until tonight to see how they really go!!!
still need some tweaking today to get the focus right on the reflector inside the spottie.

HID panasonic H4 xenon lights are AMAZING well worth the money, just get semi sealed lenses and don't worry about the metal on the bulb, it will fit! All I gotta do is make a plan to seal the bulb as the standard waterproofer don't fit!
