Its a special relay You cant substitute a headlight one. Best bet would be a wrecker or auto sparky
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Also, charge relay is normally blue.

Thanks guys. Picked up a relay from a 3.1 Jackaroo. Part number is different to 2.8TD Mu so I don't think it's exactly the same. With the Jackaroo relay, the three lights are not illuminated. With either the Mu or Jackaroo relay, the battery meter only sometimes charges. The car will start easy sometimes and slightly struggle others. Odd..

Going to get the battery load tested to eliminate that as a cause. Not to sure where to from there!?
