4JG2 injector pump switch

Postby username » Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:04 am

Hi

I am converting my petrol slug Hilux to a mighty 4JG2, I keep thinking I have all the parts and now run into another problem.

My donor engine is from a 93 Auto MU, it has a kickdown cable on the pump, on my 93 BIghorn - same engine but a manual - it has a switch with two wires.

Whats it for, what does it do, i need it etc?

Cheers

mike

If you wouldn't mind, could you please do a thread on your build, as this is something i wouldn't mind looking into for my gut-lux. I like diesels, but i may be swayed to a 3.8 commodore motor yet.......
Oh how i miss my mu, the lux is just not the same :(

yeh i also looked at 3.8 or a lexus 8, decided to stay diesel, 3.1s are the muts nuts.
can go out wheelin all day an come home with half a tank left when mates have to make urgent stops on way home for gas.
solid axles an 3.1 is mint have taken a bumnch of photos of progress so far, just chucked some extra leafs in the front as was sitting way low with heavier diesel engine in, will mkae a thread somewhere, on a quiet day at work.

Ive gone out on longer trips with a couple of v8 cruisers. They fill up on the way there and back and I get to do the following weeks run on the same tank.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Thanks user, that would be great. Its not something i will be doing any time soon, but the info would be great.
I have just replaced the front springs with medium dutie iron man springs. For the price they seem pretty good so far.
