windscreen washer

Postby stardog » Sun Aug 23, 2015 6:18 pm

For some reason my window wiper fuse keeps blowing when I try to use my window screen washer that isn't working.
I notice that when I push the lever the gear selector light goes very dull on the dash cluster.
The water bottle and pump look very new under the bonnet as well any ideas what could be causing this to happen.

start by disconecting the wire from the washer bottle and trying. If your lucky its a short in the motor
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Last time I had the battery out of the wizard I took the pump and bottle out and connected 2 wires to the +and - on the battery and it the pump worked ok.
But don't work when you use the wiper arm on the steering Colum the wipers work as they should except the washer pump it blows the fuse after about 3 pulls of the lever might be a dodgy combination switch.

When it stops raining I will unplug the pump and try it and see if it blows the fuse again when I put the spray washer on.
