Most modern cars will do something similar but most have this deactivated when you open a door or put the keys in the ignition.
Nothing like unlocking with the remote picking up all your gear crossing the road and finding it has locked because you took too long. Ive had a car lock once with the keys on the seat.
It will be interesting with the latest generation proximity key when battterys start going flat. These keys will automatically lock the car when you walk away and unlock when you come back. Never take it out of your pocket. A flat battery is going to be interpreted as walk away.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
