Replace Heater, AC and Vent Levers 1988 Trooper II

Postby brookmere » Fri Jan 29, 2016 8:00 am

I am trying to replace the heater, ac and vent levers on my 1988 Isuzu Trooper. Can anyone give me advice on how to do this? I am particulary interested in how to remove the indicator cover plate to gain access without breaking it.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.

why change the levers?
The knobs just pull off and a few screws hold the whole dash on
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

After pulling the knobs of to replace the broken lever mechanism, there is a cover plate that needs removing to gain access - just not sure how to remove the cover plate without breaking it.
