Thermo-sensor connection

Postby TriikorSFS » Mon Feb 01, 2016 1:19 pm

While diagnosing an overheating issue on my 96 bighorn plaisir 3.1td I noticed that I was missing an electrical connection from the thermostat housing and in its place is an allen key compared to my mates 95 Bighorn 3.1td which has the connection

(no pic of my mates sorry)

Looking through the manual it seems to be the thermo-sensor connection for the QQSIII system, I really have no clue on any of this.

Would this be an issue for anything? The overheating or the reason why I have to glow the truck 2-3 times before it will start?
Any insight would be great, cheers

my 94 bighorn has both sensors My 96 wizard has neither. Both start happily on one glow.
Is your bighorn the electronic pump?
If you glow once what happens?
when cold how long does the glow light stay on?
How well does the engine turn over on the starter (too slow could be starter or battery too fast low compression)
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Not sure if its electronic pump how do I tell?
If i glow once it just cranks, it will start after 20 or so cranks but i prefer to glow again so starts after one or
two cranks which to me the starter seems fine.
When cold the glow light stays on for maybe 15-20seconds, when warm 5seconds

Could do with a new battery and glow plugs, owned this for a month and it has not been looked after at all
