Kb 280 dt lx power windows.

Postby Andries100 » Sat Apr 08, 2017 2:57 am

Good enening all. I have a 2001 ldv. My electric windows keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse in the fusebox. Ive opened the switch controller and checked for visible blown components. I could not trace any. There are two fuses ( one for the left front and right rear windows and one for the right front and left rear). It is only the one 20amp fyse that blows. Could it be a faulty window motor or a dead short somewhere. Thanx. Andries (in South Africa)

best place to start is work out what blows the fuse. Does it blow as soon as you fit it or when operating any particular window up or down? Then its a matter of unplugging things to identify the fault. a multimeter will save a few fuses
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
