NO TURN SIGNALS

Postby wbski007 » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:04 am

Anyone know where the turn signal flasher is in a 98 left hand drive Rodeo?? Yesterday I installed a CB radio in the center consol above the radio, must have done something while doing so, because this morning I have no turn signals. The fuse is good and the 4 ways work, I'm figuring maybe a wire came of the flasher while I was fooling around installing the CB ? This happened once before while I had the bottom part of the dash panel off under the steering wheel, I put it back together and had no signals, took it all apart again and they worked so I put it back together and all was well, never found what the problem was ,so there must be a loose wire somewhere under there and I must have disturbed it again, moved them all around but no luck this time.

have you cheched the flasher unit? they uasly look like a round metal relay looking things with 2 wires going to it. the relay should be in the same area as the flasher unit.

you no what Bushpig I did mean flasher, why I called it a relay I don't know, yeah I know what they look like but didn't see any, when they're working they're easy to find, just follow the sound

Check the hazard switch on the steering column, if it's been used lately it might not have reconnected as the catch a lot of dust in them. Also you can try the hazards and if they work it wont be the flasher unit.

today I bumped my hazard switch half way. hazards were not on but it caused the indicators to stop working. when i went to test the hazards I noticed.. then turned off switch and indicators were working fine.

OK I'll check the hazard switch, and it is in the center of the dash right above the radio, I bet it shares the same flasher as the turn signals, Thanks fella's
