glow plug light stays on

Get help fixing your Isuzu from other club members

glow plug light stays on

HI all today my glow plug light stayed on and wont go off, The mu still starts and drives as normal ..... any ideas for a non technicly minded person ??

dud relay?
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

so is the glow plug staying on ?? and will i damege anything by driving with it like this??

Glow plugs are not designed to be on for long periods so you could burn out the glow plugs if you drive it like this.Shouldnt be other damage. A meter would be needed to see if they are staying on or just the light. For piece of mind you can remove the wires from the glow plugs and wrap in insulation tape. Your engine doesnt need them except in winter weather (ie yesterday isnt it meant to be summer)

Hey Geeves, could he just pull the fuse for the glow plugs?
I live in my own little world, but its OK they know me here.

1949 Dodge 2 1/2 ton pumper fire truck, 15,000 original miles, with a 1991 Cummins 5.9 diesel, turned up fuel, 5 speed trans, two speed rear, also added P/S, P/B.

Thanks guys we pulled some of the glow plug wires to take a look and whatda ya know the light went off......il see what happens if i get any more trouble il look a bit closer and find the problem
