Drive train, steering and suspension

Hi, Iam new to this forum. I have bought a Mu with 2.8L diesel and the transmission is shot, I have a 3.1L diesel and the auto in it is good but it is a 5speed can any one tell me if the 5 speed will bolt straight up to the 2.8L diesel?

if both auto or both manual it will fit but they use different driveshafts. Auto to manual means moving the crossmember
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I went through 3 automatic transmissions in my previous 2.8 auto Mu. Nobody told me you could put a 3.1 trans in a 2.8, I was told the 3.1 is partly electronic and would require a lot of changes. The 2.8 is a purely mechanical transmission. correct me if im wrong.
