Anyone know shackel bush sizes

Postby slightlydodgy » Tue Mar 30, 2010 5:16 pm

My rear shackel bushes are stuffed after only a year. The bush in the spring is 30mm outer and 18mm inner but I need the outer measurement for the the chassis mount bush if anyone knows it without pulling it to bits. Thanks for any helpImage

I had this problem. have a close look at the angles of the shackles and the placement of the diff on the spring. Mine was slightly moved rearward on one side and chewed the bushes out in no time.

Yea the bushes are the same size top and bottom of the shackle.

I guessed that this would be the reason - diff was wandering around on the springs at last warrant. thanks guys

The shackle bushes are the same but the bushes in the front pin are slightly bigger. You should be able to order them of the shelf from most auto stores in urethane but really you want the rubber ones but these are Holden only. A little bit more but worth it unless you fit greasable pins at the same time and grease them
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I have bought both types of bushes for the rear springs from Holden before. Both were reasonably priced.
