LSD diff for 93 Trooper

Postby BarelyLucid » Fri Apr 02, 2010 4:41 pm

I read somewhere that an earlier rear lsd diff from a bighorn will fit the front diff on my 93 Trooper. Has anyone heard of this or have any more details? Is it worth the hassle?

Cheers
Neil

I just looked into it for a 90 bighorn (10 bolt - 17 spline - front)...
not that common from what I found.. I'm going with an auto locker.

Is the 93 a 10 bolt front? if so the following is a place to start.
ubs13, ubs52 bighorn / jackeroo (86-91 ??)
also small engined rodeo utes 2wd (some had lsd)

This is second hand info.. be good if someone here could verify.

Thanks for a starting point nachi, I have looked at auto lockers as well but am not sure if the CVs will cope with them.

From what I've read I'm not too worried, depends how you drive I guess...
Easy enough to snap an axle or bugger cvs if your a bit excitable and showing off.
I've just put an lsd in the back and can't wait to get one for the front, winch first though.
Keep us posted how you get on.

you have to look for a pre 87 bighorn rear lsd to fit but they are all 4.56 ratio as well and your wagon should be 4.3 so need to change rear diff again as well. Thet is if you can find a good early lsd
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
