Available diff ratio's for 1998 Rodeo?

Postby makiomoto » Wed May 05, 2010 12:42 pm

Hi all
I have a 1998 2wd Holden Rodeo with 4JB1T.
At 3000 RPM it's doing 103 KM/h indicated. Tyres are 185/14C, 8 Ply, 100/102. Don't know profile but must be around 80?
What makes/models have a higher ratio (LSD) diff that will bolt in so I can get out on the scrounge?
I'm thinking of just getting 16" wheels with 205's which will make about a 9-10% difference all else being equal.
This thing is used almost exclusively for highway driving.
Cheers!

sounds like you have a 4.3 diff. Not sure if there is a higher ratio. the 205s will help but will also put the speedo out
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Yeah, and a bit of mechanical empathy. It sounds pretty busy at those revs, thought it might help engine longevity?
