Transfer Ratios

Postby rogak » Sat May 15, 2010 3:24 pm

Does anyone know if there are different transfer box ratios??
Eg: auto and manual or Bighorn and Mu 2.8 & 3.1
I am trying to see if there is an easy way to get a lower low range if that makes sense by using a different set of gears from another model
I know that the transfer boxes wont interchange but the gears may.......
Thanks

Other way is to mount a hilus transfer case behid your current one. This effectively gives 3 different low ranges ie isuzu low hilux high, the opposite, and everything low. Have to make your own mounts and change the lengths of the driveshafts tho. A lot of work.

Would this cause issues with the driveshaft angles on a lifted vehicle?

Possibly but it also gives another option to fix it
