Ball joint rubber boots, where to get new ones?

Postby Pissy » Mon Jul 27, 2009 10:11 am

I just checked my ball joints and the rubber boots (if that what you call them?) are worn and split, anyone know if I need to replace the whole ball joint or can I just get new rubber thingys,.........?

Any info (where to get and part numbers) would be greatly appreciated and added to parts list in the FAQ

Cheers

I have seen boots for sale but for the smaller joints the boots cost as much as the joint. As the joints are already getting old it might be better to replace them when they fail completely (have movement)
Last bottom ball joint I bought was only $60 Top joint and tie rod ends are less
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I can't really help you because your in Aussie but anyone in Christchurch with damaged boots, you can get new ones from HBI engineering for a couple of dollars each.

If I can't find them over here then I might have to ask someone in Christchurch to do me a "SOLID" and buy me a set,.......Obviously I'll pay for it and postage too.

If no one helps me out I get Francesco to ban all the Christchurchers, .........LOL
Only joking,....or am I,.....?

I'll start up a new thread should i need someone to do/buy this for me.

Cheers
