Shocks for 1995 MU

Postby Burty » Tue Aug 11, 2009 6:09 pm

Howdy - one of my rear shocks is on-the-way-out, so Im going to replace both. Has anyone done this before and can advise what I should be ordering (spec/size?). A mate of mine can get these kind of things 'cost' +gst so I just need to tell him what I want....

Cheers

If you have a std suspension or lifted no more than 50mm then he should be able to look them up in a book. If he cant find Mu then try Amigo or Frontera of the same year. If that doesnt work then Jackeroo or Trooper up to 91 should also be the same but double check.
What brand and model are you looking at?

Hello Geeves

No sure at this stage - unless you have a recommendation for a brand/model? Heightwise it hasnt been raised. Im the first nz owner and I doubt given the condition it was when I got it off the boat, that it had been off the tarmac.

Brands The original are Tokiko but these are not common in NZ shops but if you can find them they arre good and cheap. Otherwise I would stick to the major brands ie Munroe , KYB , Rancho.

I swear by rancho, unsure of size for a 95, but i think the RS9000's are well worth their cost.
Oh how i miss my mu, the lux is just not the same :(
