Will these fit??

Postby geoff » Mon Sep 07, 2009 12:55 pm

Hi

Will a 32x9x16 super swampers fit my 96 mu wizard???

These ones:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =239275596

Or another option.............

Maxxis mudzilla 31 11.5 15

These:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =239913496

I like the look of the mudzillas. Will be on used only offroad or on the way to our offroad meets.

2ndly, will the mags have the correct offset for the mu? they were formerly on a nissan terrano.

Cheers

Those swampers look nice but will cost a fortune to transport to Blenhiem and evem more to get to Wellington. Expect them to double in price plus a bit before auction end.
They should fit if you have a ssmall lift
Those mudzillas look worn out in the center Hard to be sure from a picture but I wouldnt touch them. His buy now is only a little bit more than the value of the rims
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

HI Guys.
Thanks for that.
Theres not too much in my price range geeves (seeing as I'm still trying to sort the head). The mudzillas are advertised as about 10mm tread, but I do agree they seem worn in the centre.
Dunno what to do lol

Thanks for the reply mate. I'm actually leading the bidding on those mudzillas at the moment. He said if they dont sell he would consider offers of $600 and thats about my upper limit. It closes tomorrow morning and I'll be home if he offers them lol.

Had my 1st 4wd club fun day yesterday and had a blast. Unfortunately I was hampered by my tires so am mad keen to get some asap so I dont miss any of the higher grade runs that are coming up later this month.

If your new to 4wding I would suggest trying to find a good set of general type mud tyres like the Kumos you missed out on. Both of these other tyres are specialised.
The swampers are good everywhere but sand where they dig holes. The mudzillas are good except on side slopes.
Ive currently got 3 sets of tyres and use them all

Hopefully mate. LOL. I'm a newb but hooked already!
Of course, thats if the old bitch is still running :)
I got it home tonight and found a puddle of water underneath. I was too pissed off to bother finding where it was coming from (under motor somewhere, not radiator)
It aint the most reliable car I've owned. I had my terrano for 7 years and apart from injector seals never put a spanner on it. Sold it at 200000k's. Big mistake.
I was warned not to get a 3.1 powered isuzu and stupidly went ahead and did it only to get home with a cracked head!

I'm hoping to get it into the shop this week to sort the engine.

The club mag has graded the run a 3-4 ,but one of the other guys said these runs are often worse than advertised. Basically I'm up for anything. I brought the mu as a toy, told my wife I was gonna wreck it so hopefully thats covered my ass when I do. Its a shame its not a 2.8, I'd have a lot more faith in one of them.

Yeah cant wait for the next run lol........................

If your lucky enough to have a manual you can fit the 2.8.
The 3.1 is nowhere near as bad as the 3.0 although some of those engines are nudging 300000km without issue

Thanks for your replies guys, I'm gonna get the hankooks.
