4x4 Hub removal 1996 Pickup 2.5D

Postby FreeWheelie » Wed Dec 28, 2016 11:59 pm

Hello from Germany, I wonna replace my brake rotors, so trying to get the hub off.
I got this far: removed the 3 small Phillipps screws, can't get the locking plate off in order to get to the hub nut, it seems to be one unit with the slotted inner ring?
please advise
Thanks Dirk

solved, got the locking plate off.
I was gonna put a mark in the hub nut and install the same way for same freeplay since it's the original setup with low miles.

That is the locking ring for the wheel bearing. There should be no play in the bearing so it needs to be readjusted before putting the plate on. Easy job
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
